1.  Godfried Schaben (Scheben), was born in Germany ABT 1801, d. 8/25/1887 in Cassville WI at 86 years of age.  He married  (ABT 1830) Margaret Helen Muellenholz (b. ABT 1799, d.8/15/1873),  They immigrated from Prussia about 1859 to the USA.

2.  Godfried Schaben and Margaret had 8 children.  Hylger "Aleck" Schaben was their 5th child, (b. 1836, in Cologn, Rhine-Westphalia, Germany., d. 11/21/1910 in Bazine KS).  He immigrated with his parents Godfried & Margaret about 1859.  He married Sarah Elizabeth Hutchcraft in Potosi, Wisconsin on 2/21/1864.  (Sarah was born in London England 5/10/1845, d. 8/1/1919, Bazine KS.)

John said: "
I have been mainly working on the Gerhard branch as that is the one I am in. Gerhard was Hilger's younger brother. Both settled near Ness City, KS after leaving Wisconsin. Hilger and Sarah are both buried at Bazine. Like I said, I have been concentrating on Gerhard but any time I can find a Schaben, I add them to my database and hope to find links back to Godfried someday.. I have attached what I believe to be Hilger and Sarah's wedding photo and photos of Godfried and Margaretha's grave markers. I am still searching for information about where Godfried departed from and where he arrived in America. I have been unable to locate a ship from Germany between 1849 and 1870 but marriage dates and other evidence indicates they arrived in 1858 or 1859. I am starting to think that they likely left from Amsterdam (about 150 miles from Cologne, last known German residence) and may have gotten here somewhat circuitously, possibly London to Halifax to New York or something like that..."   Help John out if you can.

3.  William E. Schaben, (b. ABT 1862, Wisconsin, d. ABT 1954 in Vinita, OK), was the 2nd child and oldest son of Godfried and Margaret Schaben.  He married Eliza Mildred Catterton (b. 5/4/1865 in Virginia, d. Bazine KS 7/28/1935).
